New Account

To activate your Gatorlink account for Department of Psychology computers you will need to fill in this online account form.

Research Assistants and Temporary Employees: You will also need to be on the approved list for the lab that you are signing up in. If you are signing up for multiple labs you will have to sign up once for each lab to get correct access.

Departmental Supported Software

To maintain the highest level of support possible for software we focus on one product for each type of task. Below is listed the departmental software that is available free for all University owned and managed computers. Additional software can be installed but will have limited support.

PeopleSoft Printing

As PeopleSoft reports often get cut off when you print them to a printer we have put together a short tutorial on how to print these reports.

  1. From the menu select File then Print
  2. Select As laid out on the screen
  3. Click the Properties button
  4. Select Landscape
  5. Select 2 pages per sheet
  6. Unselect Print page borders
  7. Click OK
  8. Click OK

Departmental EMail

The Department of Psychology uses the University of Florida mail server, also known as Gatorlink. This will give you greater support after normal IT support hours. They can be contacted at either helpdesk@ufl.edu, (352) 392-HELP (4357), or visiting their website at helpdesk.ufl.edu.

Personal Computer on Psychology Network
With the addition of the wireless network to the Psychology building we no longer connect personal computers to the infrastructure (wallplate) network. The wireless network runs with then 802.11 WiFi protocol. If your computer does not have a wireless network card they can be purchase commercially for a reasonable rate. See below for more details on the wireless network.

Campus Wireless Network

The Psychology Department has decided to put forth the funds to make wireless internet available to all students, faculty, and staff within our primary building. You need only a wireless network card (802.11b/g) and a gatorlink ID and you can authenticate to the WIPA site. To see other areas of campus that are covered with wireless access you can view the map.
