About the Undergraduate Program in Psychology

This online guide provides an overview of requirements and opportunities of the undergraduate major in psychology. As a psychology major, you will receive a broad science-based liberal arts education. The psychology curriculum can also provide a background for entry into several advanced professional schools (e.g., law, medicine, business, education), and prepare you for advanced graduate study in psychology. The psychology major is one of the most popular on the University of Florida campus.

The psychology curriculum emphasizes the principles and applications of psychological knowledge both as a natural science and as a social science. You will receive a broad background in psychology and have the opportunity to explore specific areas in more depth. To enrich your education, you are encouraged to participate in activities such as research projects in the field or laboratory, colloquia, and various paraprofessional activities such as Psi Chi (an undergraduate psychology club) and volunteer work in the community.

The undergraduate advising office is located in room 135 of the Psychology Building. For more information call (352) 273-2115, or email: psyadv@grove.ufl.edu.
