To find out more about educational experiences and opportunities as well as to clear up problems of interpretation about the requirements of the program, you are encouraged to seek out a departmental advisor. YOU ARE URGED TO SEE AN ADVISOR WHEN YOU FIRST START ON THE PSYCHOLOGY MAJOR AND AT ANY LATER TIME WHEN YOU FEEL THAT DISCUSSION MIGHT BE HELPFUL. All psychology advising is done in Room 135 Psychology Building (Phone: 273-2115). Regular advisors will have posted hours during which they will be available to talk with you. Any advisor will be able to discuss matters of general concern such as requirements of the program, course selection and opportunities for graduate work. In some cases, however, students may wish to seek out an advisor with interests similar to their own -- for example, a faculty member from the Psychobiology area if they are interested in Psychobiology. It is to facilitate such a "match" between student and information provider that the interest areas of the faculty are given later in this booklet in the area descriptions. Note that a substantial amount of advising information can be found the psychology department's website, www.psych.ufl.edu. Click on "Undergraduate Info."
The Undergraduate Advising Office is open 24 hours a week for undergraduate advising.
For current hours contact (352) 273-2115. A recorded message will have the specific hours for the week. Hours are also posted on door of Room 135, in the main lobby of the psychology building, and in the main office room 114.
Note: Psychology Advising is closed during all University of Florida holidays and all breaks between Semesters
Advisors: Geoff Lee, Brooke Leever, Brittany Brucato.
