H. Sharon Liao is this year’s winner of the Association for Academic Women’s Madelyn Lockhart Dissertation Fellowship. She received the award from President Fuchs at a reception at University House to celebrate Women’s History Month. The award honors one outstanding female graduate student from across the UF campus and is based on both scholarly achievements and future promise. In Ms. Liao’s application she detailed her dissertation work, entitled: Remembering Being Me: the Role of Autobiographical Memory in Forging Self-Continuity Across Adulthood. Her research addresses how individuals use memory to maintain a sense of self in the face of challenging life events. She is mentored by Dr. Susan Bluck in the Life Story Lab (Developmental Area).
