Obtain a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology through the Age Network or Women's Studies through the Center for Women's Studies and Gender Research. Students are also encouraged to complete a certificate in methodology and statistics. These courses would count toward the departmental distribution requirement.
Pursue a Ph.D. co-major with the College of Education. A Ph.D. co-major is a program of study for a single degree in which a student satisfies the requirements in two separate academic disciplines that offer the Ph.D. The purpose is to provide interdisciplinary training in both developmental psychology and educational psychology. Students seeking applied careers may benefit from this interdisciplinary training. The educational courses would satisfy the distribution requirement.

Obtain a law degree through the joint degree program between the College of Law and the Department of Psychology culminating in both a J.D. law degree and Psychology Ph.D. The law courses would satisfy the distribution requirements.
