I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in the middle of my sophomore year of high school. All my NJ friends warned me that no one would speak English, but luckily, we moved to NEW Mexico, USA (so much for people's geography). The mountains are gorgeous, and there is an international balloon festival every October.
