Research Interests
Dr. Bluck's earlier work concerned thought processes associated with life events. Current research maintains this focus on social cognition, extending it to investigate how people remember their own life events, especially in late life. Her specific interests include lifespan differences and continuities in:
Faculty ProfileDr. Bluck has received numerous awards. These include the Springer Early Career Achievement Award for Research in Adult Development and Aging, a Dissertation Research Award from the American Psychological Association, and a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada Dissertation Fellowship.
Dr. Bluck’s theoretical and empirical work has appeared in such journals as Psychology and Aging, The Gerontologist, the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Psychological Bulletin. She has authored chapters in several new books, was Guest Editor (with Jefferson Singer) for a special issue of the Review of General Psychology, and was Guest Editor for a special issue of Memory.
