My parents were both philosophy professors, which had unknown effects on my
development. I'm now reluctant to use the word
"know." My Mom is still teaching at LaSalle
University in Philadelphia. Her primary interests
are in postmodernism, feminism, and moral and ethical philosophy. My
Dad's travels, I think he would like to call them peregrinations, took him
from philosophy, to social work, to a degree in theology from Harvard, to
various consultant positions, to dabbling in a myriad of interests.
My parents would read Heidegger to put me to sleep when I was young.
It was Heidegger who made the totally obvious statement, "A being such
that in its being its being is in question." I have a younger
sister, Jennie, and she lives in Amsterdam with her boyfriend, Ton.
