Research My research program focuses on intersections of gender, sexuality, and health. I am interested in gender conformity and sexuality as mediators and moderators of the relationship between person-level characteristics and environmental factors with health risk behaviors. My current research is focused on motivations for anabolic-androgenic steroid use among noncompetitive weight-training men. In addition, I have completed work on professional psychology training and have an interest in professional identity, professional development, and training issues (especially internship match rates) in clinical and counseling psychology. Finally, I have a longstanding and particularly nerdy interest in cross-sectional and longitudinal research methodology, particularly structural equation modeling and confirmatory factor analysis.
