  • Dr. Tucker Health Psychology Research Team: Dr. Tucker's team focuses on: Addressing health disparities within low-income, racial/ethnic minority communities by emphasizing culturally sensitive health care delivery and implementing health promotion programs targeting overweight/obesity and related diseases Conducting community participatory research on overweight/obesity and related diseases Creating a network of Health Promotion Centers in various settings throughout Florida.   • Grad Prep and GRE Non-Credit Summer Course: Offered by Dr. Greg Neimeyer and Dr. Diane Stevenson, this course will provide you with the information you need if you are applying to grad school.   • "Weathering the Storm": A workshop offered by the UF Career Resource Center will give career planning tips for students who are facing a job search in difficult times. Topics covered include networking, alternative careers, and jobs that are not effected by the recession.All workshops will be held in CRC classroom 160. The workshops will be held: April 7, 11:45 - 12:35; April 15, 4:05 - 4:55; April 22, 4:05 - 4:55; April 30, 1:55 -2:45.
  • Psychology Undergraduate Research Forum: Offered by CLAS, the Graduate Student Advisory Board, and Psychology Graduate Student Organization, this forum will give undergraduates the chance to present thier research in poster format. It will be held Thursday, April 16th, 2009, 4:00pm - 6:00pm in the Psychology Building.
  • Post-baccalaureate Research Training Program: Neuroscience of Emotion
    Research training for post-bacclaureate students is available in a sophisticated, state-of-the-art psychophysiological research laboratory at the Center for the Study of Emotion and Attention (CSEA) at the University of Florida. These studies involve psychophysiological recording in human subjects (electrode placement and measurement of a variety of bio-electric signals, including heart, skin, brain waves and reflexes) and use multiple computer systems for data collection, scoring, and analysis. Training involves psychophysiological hookup, conducting experimental sessions, entering and reducing data, and assisting in all phases of laboratory research with human subjects. Current research studies investigate emotion, anxiety, and fear.
    The successful candidate is able to work independently and motivated to learn about bio-behavioral research, with a bachelor's degree in psychology or related field, 1200+ GREs, and an undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or higher. These research training positions provide an excellent research background for those planning to attend graduate school and pursue a scientific career.

  • The University of Maryland: is offering rising juniors and seniors the opportunity to participate in graduate research over the summer. If you are part of a traditionally underrepresented group and are interested in the Social, Behavioral, and Economic sciences, this program is for you.
  • The Yale Cognition and Development Lab: under the direction of Professor Frank Keil, announces the opportunity for several undergraduates to participate in the lab's annual Summer Research Internship. This 10-week Internship involves hands-on research experience and training in the fields of cognitive psychology and developmental psychology.
