About Angelica Brozyna

Angelica Brozyna was born March 11, 1981 in Chicago, Illinois. Angelica attended Maine South high school in Park Ridge, Illinois and graduated in 1999. While working towards her undergraduate degree, Angelica worked as a research assistant in a research lab studying effective coping skills and a research lab focusing on adult attachment and romantic relationships. After graduating, Angelica attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. After completing her Bachelor’s degree, Angelica worked as a counselor at the Jennings Group Home for adolescent children and conducted group therapy regarding teen pregnancy, utilizing effective communication skills with peers and family, anger management skills, and substance abuse addictions. Angelica then continued her education in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Florida in 2004. In 2006, Angelica completed a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida and plans to continue on to receive her Ph.D.

Currently, Angelica is a research director in the Behavioral Medicine Research Team under the direction of her research mentor, Dr. Carolyn M. Tucker. Angelica also works as counselor at the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Program at Shands Health Care, conducting individual, group, and family counseling. Angelica’s professional interests include teaching, health psychology, social justice, cultural sensitivity, child and adolescent therapy, couples and family counseling, and immigrant issues.
