About Katherine D. Daly

Katherine D. Daly received her B.A. in Psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2004. During her undergraduate education, Katherine worked as the research coordinator on a NIH-funded longitudinal study examining adaptation in families of children with developmental disabilities. From 2004-2006, Katherine completed an M.A. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri-Columbia. At MU, Katherine worked as a research assistant on a USDE grant investigating the effects of developmental mentoring for at-risk youth faced with financial and environmental barriers. Katherine also served as the editorial assistant for the Journal of Counseling Psychology during her Masters program.

A common thread in Katherine’s research and community outreach activities is a positive outlook that focuses on people’s strengths and qualities that will help them cope with challenging circumstances. Presently, Katherine is a doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Florida and a research director on the Behavioral Medicine Research Team. Katherine’s professional interests include culturally sensitive healthcare, adaptation to chronic and terminal illness, and meeting the psychological needs of the aging population.
