PPE 3004 Psychology of Personality Fun things

Welcome to my website!

I am currently a counseling psychology doctoral student in the department of psychology, University of Florida. I was born in Guiyang, China, a small city surrounded by mountains and waterfalls. I studied business in Beijing and then moved to Canada in pursuit of my career dream in psychology. Canada to me is a second home and I miss the snow at the X’mas time and the jazz festival in the summer. Life at UF has been a different chapter in my life journey, full of various learning and growth experiences.

I work at Dr. Kenneth Rice’s lab, in which the major research focus is perfectionism and related personality factors. I am also fascinated by topics like culture (e.g., how the ways people behave, think, and understand themselves and their social worlds are impacted by their sociocultural experiences and how to bridge understanding upon differences) as well as transition and coping (e.g., such as transition at different life stages, from high school to college, and immigration to a different cultural environment, and how personality factors protect or hinder people from successful adaptation). Currently I am doing a project on the relationship between perfectionism and social comparison orientation.

In my spare time I love to emerge myself into various forms of arts. I also love to travel and read.
