Course Description and Objectives:

Welcome to Personality Psychology! This course is intended to introduce you to some major personality theories which have been developed to understand human behavior.

By the end of the course, you should be able to understand:

      (1) the major concepts, theories and assessment methods in each theoretical approach;  
      (2) how various personal, social, and scientific contexts affected the development of the theorist’s ideas;  
      (3) the major differences among the theories.

      While theories are important, I also hope you can take something out of this class to be useful in your real life. I would like this to be an opportunity for you to understand more about yourself and appreciate your uniqueness. I also wish the knowledge can expand your understanding of other people, and allow you to further appreciate the diversity in their personality/culture.

The material covered in this course will also allow you to answer some interesting questions about yourself and the people you see around you every day. By the end of the course, I hope you will be able to:
